Val's Helping Hands thrives off of inclusivity. We do not have any financial requirements in order to qualify for assistance. However, to qualify for assistance, you must meet 3 requirements.

  1. Must have a need for durable medical equipment and/or adaptive equipment (DME/AE).

  2. Must have a diagnosis.

  3. Must be willing to participate in an in-home/facility safety screening and assessment.

How to apply for assistance and the process

  1. Call 832-774-4446 to schedule an appointment.

  2. After the appointment is scheduled, a licensed therapist volunteer will arrive to your home/facility on the scheduled date/time and complete a safety screen and assessment to determine your need for DME/AE.

  3. After the safety screen/assessment, the therapist will determine the best piece/pieces of DME/AE that fit your specific needs. The therapists will have the equipment with them the day of the screening/assessment or return with it another day.

  4. When the DME/AE is distributed to you, the therapist will assemble, place, and provide you with education on how to best utilize the piece/s of equipment.

  5. After the equipment is distributed to you, the therapist will then determine the best time and dates to follow-up with you.
